July 2–4 (Pamplona, Spain): I'll be presenting two of my papers and serving as a discussant at the 32nd Finance Forum (Annual Meeting of the Spanish Finance Association, AEFIN). If you'll be there, I'd love to chat!
Hi, I’m Zhou Ren.
I will be on the 2025-2026 academic job market.
I will be visiting Kellogg School of Management from September 2025.
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at the Vienna Graduate School of Finance. Before coming to Vienna, I earned an M.Sc. in Economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and completed the Advanced Studies Program at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
My research spans macro-finance and international finance, combining theory with empirical analysis. Recently, I am particularly interested in how macroeconomic shocks affect bank operations and corporate finance behaviour, and in the role that real and financial frictions play in this transmission. Much of my current work relies on micro-level panel data.
